Nuvola® acoustical fiberglass clouds are sloping in opposite directions to deliver a playful appearance inside the library of Lions Gate Hospital. Nuvola® is very lightweight and in this case suspended by only 2 wires to hold the design intent. The clouds have great acoustical benefits and ensure lingering noises are absorbed preventing them from traveling through the library and creating a pleasant reading atmosphere.
Decoustics’ Claro offers an original ceiling solution to Benjamin Russell Hospital for Children. For construction of two floors of the 785,000 sq.ft. Benjamin Russell Hospital for Children in Birmingham, AL, the architect specified custom sound-absorbent Claro panels in a unique suspended Ceilencio ceiling grid from Decoustics, with custom-designed butterfly clips to address the challenge presented by the hospitals curved interior walls. Strict precision during the engineering and design process was critical, as the slightest error would have thrown the ceiling off course and made it impossible for the panels to fit properly. However, detailed photographs and measurements using 3D laser technology-enabled the installer to complete a flawless installation.
As a single-source supplier Decoustics provided multiple acoustical products for the renovation of this medical research facility, including: Claro®, Quadrillo® and Fabric wrapped panels.
Large rectangular Claro® Ceilencio® panels are featured in the entrance lobby. With excellent noise absorbing properties, Claro® delivers great acoustics in this space with numerous reflective surfaces such as glass, tiles and millwork. Ceilencio® suspension grid allows for easy access to the plenum for maintenance. Claro® Standard White finish reflects over 90% of light and brilliantly brightens up this open lobby.
On the other side the waiting area is beautifully outfitted with Quadrillo® panels on the ceiling that make this expansive space feel more warm and inviting. Inside the meeting rooms and lecture halls Claro® ceiling, curved Quadrillo® and Fabric wrapped walls ensure to adsorb noise and eliminate echoing, delivering crisp sounds and speech intelligibility to the seats in the back of these rooms.
Not only do Decoustics products give this facility a refined appearance, but also a great acoustical atmosphere and comfortable environment.
