Architect: Jacobs Engineering Group

Conference room with backlit translucent fabric ceiling

Decoustics was awarded Section 9 specification for the high-performance acoustical ceilings throughout newly opened Jacobs Engineering Group headquarters in Dallas, Texas. Mini-perforated wooden Fori, translucent LightFrame and Fabric-wrapped panels were installed on a 100% downwardly accessible Ceilencio suspension system delivering ease of installation and precise fit to over 4,500 sq. ft. of custom engineered ceilings.

Providing even illumination and excellent acoustics inside the main boardroom are LED backlit Ceilencio LightFrame acoustical panels encased by quarter cut, slip-matched, mini-perforated, natural American Black Walnut wood veneered Fori panels. The reception area holds a similar design intent but with fabric-wrapped panels in the center and Fori panels around the perimeter. In addition to providing superior sound absorption, Fori panels add warmth to several meeting spaces throughout the office making the rooms feel more comfortable and inviting.

Great example of the use of combination of Decoustics acoustical products in one design: ceiling is finished in custom curved Claro Ceilencio, the walls showcase Quadrillo on top half and Solo M on the bottom half, and behind the glass fabric-wrapped free hanging screens provide a beautiful ceiling highlight. Decoustics has the capability to customize our products to achieve specific design intent. In this project Quadrillo Type 5 seamlessly blends in with fully grooved Solo M Type 8 panels in direct wall mounting application. Both products are constructed from No Added Urea Formaldehyde (NAUF) core and finished in Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC® C020536) certified, slip matched American black walnut natural wood veneer. All Decoustics products achieve high NRC values, the lowest flame spread Class A rating (composite test) and are manufactured with high recycled content making them an effective solution for LEED accreditation and green building solutions.

Beautiful design element as well high performance: these 2” thick acoustical free hanging screens have high sound absorption properties in addition to creating a relaxing ambiance due to their fluid shape and reverse pattern installation. Wrapped in Decoustics standard white acoustical fabric the baffles also reflect the light making the room feel airy and spacious.
