Architect: Rockwell Group

To bring back the once-faded “Vegas” flare for one of its key properties in Hollywood, FL, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino decided to go big, really big. After 12 years of work and $1.5 billion invested, the newly opened 450-foot hotel tower in the shape of a guitar has become a prominent landmark and attraction.

Featured inside the main lobby and hallway area is a surreal 3-Dimensional geometrical ceiling constructed from voluminous square and rectangular shapes that are seemingly floating in the air. Pushing the boundaries of engineering and raw material to realize this complex design intent, Decoustics handcrafted 448 oversized 3D shapes from tapered Claro® acoustical panels of different thicknesses and using special hollow core construction. Concealed custom steel frame was used to suspend all Claro® panels and hold the geometry of the curved ceiling shape while delivering the desired floating effect.

Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino aired a promo ad during the Super Bowl LIV. The 2-minute spot stars JLo, Arod, DJ Khaled, Pitbull and Steven Van Zandt, and shows off the innovative and stunningly beautiful amenities of the newly opened hotel. As Jennifer Lopez chases the mysterious thief through the hotel campus, look out for Decoustics’ 3-Dimensional geometrical Claro® ceiling at 0:40 of the ad:

Restaurant with wood ceiling

The newly relocated Union Square Café has opened its doors after almost a year. Situated near Gramercy Park in Manhattan, NY, this unique space attracts audiences of all tastes and backgrounds and is cherished for its quirky character and comfortable charm. Rockwell Group architects were tasked with preserving the familiarity of the original restaurant, but imagining something brand new and more spacious. Decoustics mini-perforated acoustical wooden Fori panels were chosen to outfit the upstairs bar and various dining areas inside the cafe. While the deep American Black Walnut Fori panels were an excellent choice to compliment this space and set the mood, they also have high noise reduction property and allow for a pleasant conversational environment inside the cafe.
