
Inspired by a skylight, the project’s executive architect, Laurence G. Jones Architects, LightFrame acoustical panels with LEDs to give the impression that there is light coming from above. Decoustics custom engineered and manufactured 24 LightFrame panels to create a seamless appearance and fill this open front lobby entrance with abundance of light.
The newly relocated Union Square Café has opened its doors after almost a year. Situated near Gramercy Park in Manhattan, NY, this unique space attracts audiences of all tastes and backgrounds and is cherished for its quirky character and comfortable charm. Rockwell Group architects were tasked with preserving the familiarity of the original restaurant, but imagining something brand new and more spacious. Decoustics mini-perforated acoustical wooden Fori panels were chosen to outfit the upstairs bar and various dining areas inside the cafe. While the deep American Black Walnut Fori panels were an excellent choice to compliment this space and set the mood, they also have high noise reduction property and allow for a pleasant conversational environment inside the cafe.
Direct mounted on the wall using z-clips, Rondolo™ micro-perforated panels complete the overall natural look and add warmth to this cozy dining space. Finished in 5 different wood species: Maple, White Oak, Beech, Cherry and Walnut, the micro-perforated panels are manufactured from no-added Urea Formaldehyde (NAUF) building materials. Micro perforations are a nominal 0.50mm and virtually disappear at a distance, giving the appearance of a monolithic wood wall installation while providing excellent acoustical performance.
