Employees throughout Saint-Gobain North America recently participated in the company’s second annual Diversity & Inclusion Day. Modeled after the United Nation’s Day of Cultural Diversity for Dialog and Development, the Saint-Gobain event celebrated the positive impact of diversity and inclusion in our workplaces by making one change.
At Decoustics, employees took part in making preparations for the event and D&I day’s activities. Site was decorated with flags from the 30 different countries representing the employees’ countries of origin, educational posters and festive decorations. Everyone had prepared a traditional meal for our potluck, numerous suggestions were received for the special D&I song playlist and also many wore their traditional garments and/or colors of their country’s team or flag. Together we took steps forward to better recognizing our diverse culture and making a change towards including everyone, as well as giving back.
For the event, two employees had each prepared an activity to share something about their culture and engage everyone to participate. In the photo above, employees are having a great time taking part in one of those activities and learning the steps to a Latin American dance.
Passenger Terminal World magazine features the newly opened YYC Calgary International Airport in its 2018 Airports of the Future Showcase.
Inside the YYC’s International Terminal, Decoustics custom engineered over 200,000 sq ft of acoustical Solo wood products which are providing the stunning ceiling and wall highlight to the large departure halls, retail concourse and luggage areas. Even though the appearance is created seamless and monolithic, Solo planks are uniquely perforated for high sound absorption and come with factory-attached acoustical fleece. Reaching NRC rates of up to 0.95, Solo planks help manage acoustics and mitigate noise, leading to a stress-free and anxiety-reducing travel experience.
