Continuous Linear Wood ceiling at Devonshire Mall is made with natural Douglas Fir veneer, quarter cut, slip matched and custom stained to deliver a refined appearance. Planks are constructed from No-Added Urea Formaldehyde (NAUF) materials and finished with specialized water-based low VOC clear lacquer. All wood materials are responsibly sourced and FSC® (020536) certified by NEPCon, bearing the marks of the Rainforest Alliance®. Linear wood planks vary in width to match the ceiling installation on the exterior, and are mounted on a slope creating a dramatic finishing effect inside the mall’s hallways and dining areas.

Function inspires form with the building’s curvilinear layout and minimalist interior design. Architecture 49 aimed to deliver a harmonious transition of the ceiling from the exterior of the building to the interior, carefully selecting products that helped mitigate noise inside and had no Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) emissions. Decoustics linear Cross Piece Grille finished in natural American Maple wood veneer was selected to cover the interior ceiling of this Golf Chalet.

Cross Piece Grille’s wooden blades are manufactured with No-Added Urea Formaldehyde (NAUF) materials and don’t emit VOCs. Noises are bounced between blades and dissipate into the plenum thus improving the acoustics inside the chalet otherwise containing a lot of reflective surfaces. Cross Piece blades are secured in place using dove tail assembly, which prevents them from being knocked over during maintenance and ensures perfect linear alignment throughout the entire ceiling. Additionally, all components are fire rated Class A and were delivered onsite fully-engineered and ready for installation, saving time and cost during construction.

Meeting all of the project objectives, the end result is a beautiful linear wood ceiling and warm wood aesthetic inside the chalet.

Claro Ceilencio custom acoustical panels with built-up returns are seen throughout the newly renovated Terminal 3 of the Pearson International Airport in Toronto, ON. The 4″ and 3″ curved built-up returns visually add depth to the ceiling and conceal the suspension. The panels brighten up the space by reflecting light, have high noise absorption properties and eliminate echoing delivering a pleasant and stress-free environment inside the airport. In addition, both products attain Class A fire rating, making them a safe and reliable choice for all applications.

Decoustics fabric-wrapped ceiling panels beautifully complement the decor of this modern executive boardroom. The grey tones of the fabric create a classy elegant appearance, while the panels adsorb noise and eliminate echoing inside the room, delivering excellent acoustical performance. The Ceilencio suspension grid allows for the entire ceiling to remain accessible for maintenance and repairs.

Note: the metal trim around the panels is not manufactured by Decoustics.

The Globe and Mail Center located downtown Toronto is great example to demonstrate how our wide range of acoustical products integrate together to fulfill various design and performance objectives. The entire ceiling of the expansive event hall on the 17th floor of the building is outfitted with Decoustics’ Claro and Solo-M wood panels finished in American white oak. Both products have excellent sound absorption properties and ensure pleasant acoustics inside the room when the events reach full capacity.

Claro Standard White finish has additional benefits as it reflects over 90% of light. At daytime the space is filled with natural sunlight and at night the atmosphere and mood changes as the different colored lights, patterns and images that are projected onto the ceiling.

Claro and Solo Type 8 panels are suspended on fully accessible Ceilencio suspension system, which allows for easy access to the plenum for maintenance and repairs. Edges are finished with knife-edge trim. In addition, Ceilencio accommodates various light fixtures and panels lifts, which expand in and out of the ceiling.

Decoustics’ Dowel Grille products give a different look and feel to the hallway, reception area and office spaces throughout the building. To add depth and hide the suspension, the Dowel Grille is finished with upturn grille blades.

We have the capability and custom product range to accommodate virtually any design intent, which makes specifying and installation process easy and efficient.
