A custom acoustical and luminous solution was required for the exterior application outside of main lobby of the hospital. LightFrame® panels deliver both; however, were typically used in the interior application. Tasked with this objective, Decoustics completed wind load tests and tried variety of finishes for LightFrame® to find the desired result and deliver a high-performance product for the exterior application.

Micro-perforated 6” (15.2 cm) high and 2” (5 cm) thick Rondolo® baffles are finished in factory standard American White Oak natural, rift cut and slip-matched wood veneer. Clear water-based UV lacquer top coat with 25% sheen delivers a lustrous shine and fiberglass infill attains excellent noise absorbing properties. Baffles are secured in place by monarch clips to a T-Bar grid preventing misalignment. Rondolo® wood Baffles eliminate echoing and make the space feel warm and inviting.

Hexagon shaped acoustical clouds finished in Decoustics Claro, an acoustically transparent stipple texture finish. Claro attains high levels of noise absorption and light reflectance of up to 94%.
